Signed bottom right. In a hand carved & painted frame.

William Robert Hay was born in Glasgow in 1886. He trained at the Westminster School of Art and exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1911 and 1923. He often used the street urchins near his studio in Chelsea as subjects for his drawings, of which this girl in one.
